I have been increasingly pleased with the wines coming out of Paso Robles, this AVA is forging their own personality like the younger more hip child to its older Napa sibling. Deep dark cherry hues hints at its bold character that promises an intense flavor profile. Notes of pepper, plum and vanilla accompany this high ABV wine that finishes strong and smooth. Medium tannins soften quickly and with a slightly sweet and leathery finish. This is one of those wines that the more you drink the more you appreciate the nuances of its character as it opens up and offers ever more pleasant flavor notes that keep on giving. I would buy this again just for the fact that I believe every time I drink this over time it will expose more depth of flavor.
